Summary of this Book...
The nightmares of the Old and New Worlds combine in this tale from A.A. Carr. More than a centry past Falke, a European vampire, sought new blood in the new world and preyed on the Navajo until a band of shaman wound and drive him away. After decades of slumber, Falke awakes in the 20th century and resumes his hunting. For his newest newest 'bride,' Falke has set his sights on Melissa Roanhorse, a young girl of Navajo ancestry, but this hardly bodes well with his two other wives, Elizabeth and Hanna. It falls to Melissa's grandfather, Michael Roanhorse, and her teacher, Diana Logan, to save the girl, but Michael must first draw on the most ancient ways of his people to find a way to end the menace of the vampires. "Eye Killers" adeptly combines the European legends of the vampire with the Native American myths of the skinwalker and the monster slayer and sets the tale in a realistic setting populated with unforgettable characters. Carr also captures the feel of the classic vampire tale in a way that few besides Bram Stoker have been able to accomplish. His vampires are a perfect balance of the sensual and the menacing, and they are perfectly balanced by the ordinary, fallable mortals who must somehow fight them.
