Summary of this Book...
Archaeologist Anna Meridian discovers some rare ancient papyrus near Rome whose contents threaten to end Christianity. Against incredible odds and the doubts of her own faith, Anna is in a race against time to try and right what she feels is her own shortcoming. With fellow archaeolist Jack Dyson at her side, can she beat the ruthless looter Raphael at his own game while escaping a deadly eruption from Mt. Vesuvius?
This type of Book is good for...
Readers who enjoy a fast-paced action/historical thriller.
I especially liked... | ||
How the characters felt about how modern Christianity is slammed because Jesus' followers know Him as the son of God. Other religions are not targeted this way.
I didn't like... | ||
The post-modern feel of the text. Rivalries like that between Anna and Raphael are introduced but never fully explained.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Cheer Shane Johnson for producing yet another outstanding novel. He's a gifted writer and it shows in his work.
This Book made me feel...
Comfortable about my own faith in Christ. How would I react if I were in the environment of this novel and I was told that Jesus hadn't risen from the dead and that His disciples had lied?
The author of this Book...
Shane Johnson is the author of "The Last Guardian" and "Chayatocha", both which are excellent novels.
I recommend this Book because...
It is an interesting book overall. It will make you take a second look at your faith if you are a Christian.
Further Comments... | ||
I highly reccommend reading the author's note and interview at the end of the book. They are very thought-provoking.
