One of Joss Whedon's most mature works, Firefly - The Complete Series is a very enjoyable romp through a Sci-Fi, using a dramatic-Western theme. Fans of Whedon's other television shows will find the series to be equally as engrossing. He goes on to do something more, however-- all of his characters (and there are 9, so it is no small feat) are developed throughout the show's short tenure-- none of the main characters are one-dimensional and have their own quirks. Ironically enough, the most boring character I found was the one that was played to be the most eccentric- young River (Summer Glau). Still, typical of Whedon's work, there are plenty of unexpected turns throughout the series that will leave you wanting more.
