Summary of this Book...
You don't need to read "A Million Little Pieces" to understand this book. Even though it is like the second part.

"My Friend Leonard" takes you through James' life after the treatment center. At the begining of the book, Frey is spending his time in jail and has absolutley nothing. All he has is Lily waiting for him in Chicago. When Lily kills herself the day James is released from jail, he is devistated. But with his strength and Lily's memory and Leonard's help, somehow he pushes on.

The book goes into alot of mafia related things. James spends some time in a legal job, but with the insisting from Leonard James' gos to work for him. It doesn't take long for him to realize that it's not the kind of work he wants to do.

I can't say a whole lot, but this is a wonderful tribute to a great man. By reading "A Million Little Pieces" and "My Friend Leonard" you begin to feel like Leonard is your own best friend. You begin to feel like you've known him for years and you yourself are there with them at their excentric dinners and fancy hotels. And at the end of the book, when you finally read the twist that may turn everything you believe upside down, you can't help but to cry like you've lost your best friend.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who read and enjoyed "A Million Little Pieces". Anyone who has a best friend, and anyone who wants a best friend.
I especially liked...
the part when Leonard takes James to an art dealer so he can own his own Picasso. That scene continues to stay on my mind. James buys the Picasso (a bunch of scribbles with a star drawn in crayon) and laughs to himself about how absolutley ridiculous it is that he has it. It's a scene that made me smile and made me want to go find my own Picasso.
I didn't like...
crying for three days after finishing it. Seriously.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I blubbered like a little baby. I cried for days. And not like when I cried after finishing "A Million Little Pieces". After this book, I cried with ever fiber of my being and then when I was done I read it all over again.
This Book made me feel...
like I lost my best friend. As I said in the summary, this book has an incredible way of making you feel so close to Leonard. And when you read both books you feel as if Leonard is your best friend. You feel like your there with him through it all.
The author of this Book...
is an incredible man. I would be honored to meet him some day.
I recommend this Book because...
it stirs emotions, it's well written, and the ending has an incredible way of making you see people in a whole new light. Regardless of what your views may be on alot of serious issues, this book has an amazing ability to look at things a little differently.
