Summary of this Book...
These newly selections from the Early New Testament of the Bible include Mark's Gospel, 29 of the so-called "Odes of Solomon", an extract from the Didache (or "Teaching"), two large extracts from "The Shepherd of Hermas" including "The 12 Great Commandments" with Hermas's comments and "Similitude 5: The Question of Fasting", a short extract from the Epistle of Barnabas, and 21 sayings and stories by and about Jesus.
This type of Book is good for...
all who love to read the Bible.
I especially liked... | ||
Mark's Gospel, which seems so fresh and new and reads at such a headlong pace, more than one critic has remarked that this version has been abbreviated and condensed. In point of fact, however, rather than being condensed, this translation has been expanded to include both the recognized historical endings and other material from early manuscripts. It actually contains nearly 300 words MORE than the authorized King James version!
The author of this Book...
is obviously an expert who has spent many years studying the Bible.
I recommend this Book because...
it is so inspiring. | ||
