This is the third book in the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series. Anita is again trying to solve some murders, and this time it was done by vampires, but not the local ones. She's also trying to deal with Jean-Claude, who's doing his best to make her his. Even though she's pushing away his advances, she must still protect him from various people and creatures who wish her to reveal Jean-Claude's identity and location.

The new plot was fantastic. Of course, there's always an underlying "continuous" plot, but each book has its separate conflicts or problems. This one didn't fail that pattern. The problems Anita faces can truly change her life, and they do. This book is a must read for those who enjoy horror, mystery, the supernatural, and romance. You won't be disappointed.

Grab a few more! There are plenty of Anita Blake books to choose from, and after having read this, I wanted to keep on reading.

The book made me feel tense and in suspense. Would Anita be alright? Well, you'll just have to find that out later.

Hamilton is an excellent writer, as I've stated before. Her style is unique and truly gets the reader interested. It's down to earth and never hard to understand.

I recommend the book, because it is a fantastic read. It's packed full of everything with a strong, independent female character (something you don't usually see in books).
