This is a story about 16 year old Megan, who was commanded to go visit her estranged grandmother. The setting is Maryland, and a good deal of the story takes place in Megan's new home, which is somewhat like a mansion, to be frank.

Megan's adoptive mother had been disowned by her mother (Megan's grandmother), thus, Megan had never before met her. Shockingly, Megan finds that she's seen the home before, and has recurring flashbacks and dreams as she stays at the house with her cousin, Matt. Mysteries, the past, and murderers are uncovered in this nail biting story.

This book is great for a short, yet satisfying read. The length is sufficient for the plot, and to develop characters.

I especially liked how light the story was. It never delved too deeply into the romance (i.e. getting too physical). The writing is understandable, and great for a young audience. The book also has you thinking, trying to link pieces and parts together in order to acquire the full picture.

I wanted to try my hand at something like this, once I'd finished reading. I've never been good at piecing things together in writing, but I do enjoy reading things and trying to do just that.

The book made me feel surprised! I hadn't expected the ending I'd received. I guess I'm not that good of a mystery solver.

The author of the book is quite talented. She knows how to put together a good mystery with some supernatural spice sprinkled on top. There were never any awkward sentences. It was an easy and enjoyable read.

I recommend the book because it is fantastic for mystery lovers (or even non-mystery lovers, give it a try!). It has some romance and, in a way, historic symbolization. It also delves a bit into racial issues, though, very lightly. A great read for those who are young (or old). I'd suggest giving this as a gift to a daughter or friend. (I'm not sure if guys would like this book, but they just might.)
