Summary of this Book...
This luxurious hardcover differs somewhat from the $19.95 trade paperback edition. The 275 pages here (compared to 267 in the paperback) contain an extra poem, "Pictures at an Exhibition", by contest judge and editor, John Howard Reid, plus extra illustrations. In fact, there are now 74 drawings and photographs all told, compared to 39 drawings in the paperback version.
This type of Book is good for...
all poets, especially those of us who are keen to enter poetry contests.
I especially liked... | ||
the title poem, "Across the Long Bridge", by Laurie B. Moore; "Korhogo Road" by Harold Fleming; "Ocean vista, with gulls" by Tom Berman; "The Wild Turkey" by Judith Goldhaber; "Night Sky Dreamery" by Erika Snow Robinson; "Sounds of Sailing" by Karen Taggart-Hatlen; "The Harmonics of Flirting with You" by Maria Christina Vidale; "Flying into the Wind" by Johnmichael Simon; "Super Bowl Sunday on St. John" by Joyce Meyers; "Heartstop: A poem on the Passing of Leni Riefenstahl" by John B. Lee; "Amasi" by Debbie Camelin; and "Chicken Run" by Gillian Lynn Katz.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
write poetry with similar insights, imagination and picturesque imagery.
This Book made me feel...
happy and delighted, as if I had taken wing into the sky.
The author of this Book...
or rather the 120 plus authors, fully deserve all their prizes and commendations.
I recommend this Book because...
it is essential reading.
