Summary of this Book...
This is a collection of short stories, many of them related in the first person by heroine, Micaela Morris, who graduates from the small rural community of Hedley's Creek (and its even smaller off-shoot, Jo's Heaven) to writing a TV soap in "Plain Glory", to running the Drama Society at the Kawbury (Kentucky) Country Club in both "Grand Illusions" and "Position, Chorus, Position", and even to joining a Gilbert and Sullivan troupe as "A Singing Fool". There are other stories and prose pieces in this collection as well, including the award-winning "Fan-Fan", "Kinkhead's Dilemma" and "Wright and Wrong".
This type of Book is good for...
everyone who enjoys a good short story, whether it be humorous, dramatic, action-full or simply out of the rut.
I especially liked... | ||
"Fan-Fan". This delightful essay on a pet rabbit, named "Fan-Fan", deserved won First Prize in one of the country's largest and most prestigious writing contests.
I didn't like... | ||
the fact that the book has only 140 pages. Fortunately, the author has since published two more of his short prose collections, namely "A Packet of Dreams" and "A Mountain of Many Treasures."
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
immerse myself in "A Packet of Dreams".
This Book made me feel...
glad to be able to read such fascinating and delightful stories.
The author of this Book...
is a fine writer who throughly deserves all his many awards and commendations.
I recommend this Book because...
it is so entertaining. Nothing heavy, just first-class entertainment!
