Summary of this DVD... | ||
A woman and her daughter, bound by traditions different than traditions other people have, settle into a tiny town where conservative tradition and religion and not rocking the boat are paramount. Enter Viviane, a strong, single mother in 1950-ish France, who has a chocolate business she puts to work right at the beginning of Lent. She is hounded by the mayor of the town, ostracized by the good mothers, befriends river rats, beaten women, and her grouchy old landlady. In the end, she brings life, light and, of course, chocolate, to a town where once only shadows and ghosts lived. | ||
