Cassie Stuart is a meddler. She can't help herself, and she always manages to get herself into trouble. But when she tries to end a twenty-five year old feud, she gets more than she bargained for. Both families are trying to run her out of the state.

So she calls for a peacemaker...and gets Angel, a hired gun, instead. He's handsome, he's strong, he's dark and seductive as original sin. He also thinks she's out of her mind.

As they deal both with each other and the feuding families, they unwillingly start down the road to happily ever after.

It's a "happily ever after needs a few bumps in the road" book.

I loved the interaction between Cassie and her mother, as well as Angel's reaction to Cassie's "pet" panther, Marabelle.

I laughed through the entire book. Cassie was such a character, and Angel's reactions were hilarious.

Johanna Lindsey has a real talent for creating quirky, spunky heroines that irritate and confuse their heroes and somehow manage to catch their hearts.
