Summary of this DVD... | ||
Sarah (Diane Lane) finds herself divorced and alone, while her family try to get her back into the dating scene. Her sister signs her up to an online dating service...and the fun ensues. She meets a series of men, including Jake (John Cusack) and soon realises that dating is a scary process.
This type of DVD is good for...
A good laugh. John and Diane deliver great dry humour in this lighthearted look at the ins and outs of the awkward first date scenario.
I especially liked... | ||
The dogs steal the best scenes...there's a scene where Jake is watching Doctor Shivago, little white west highland terrier on his lap and he says "Look, here's the part you like...she's wearing that hat you like" and the dog casually lifts his head and turns to look at the screen....love it.
I didn't like... | ||
Didn't like Dermott Mulroney playing the naughty boy...cause he's so cute!
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Watch it again! | ||
This DVD made me feel...
Satisfied. A predictable finish to a good movie, but the journey was worth it.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
I thought Diane and John were well cast to play the leads. A pair that you wouldn't think to put together, but their chemistry was very good and they have the same dry sense of humour. I thought Christopher Plummer was well cast as the father, while Stockard Channing shone through as the quirky girlfriend.
I recommend this DVD because...
If you want something light-hearted and not too serious then this is the one to go for.
I don't recommend this DVD because...
If you like a good 'thinking' plot with a twist to leave you guessing then don't watch this one...
