The world of two moons is one filled with danger and magical creatures that peek out of the leafy forest at night.

When the Wolfriders, an elven tribe living in the deep woods, hiding from the five-fingered humans, realize that one of their own, the tracker Redlance, has been captured, young Chieftain Cutter and his soul-brother Skywise go to rescue him. But when Cutter must kill a human, the humans retaliate by burning down the forest. The elves are forced to flee their home to seek refuge with the trolls, who hold no love for their pointy-eared neighbors. Tricked by the troll king, they must travel across the Burning Waste (the desert), hoping they can find shelter, food and water.

The copy I have is in black and white, but even without it, the imagery of this world is vivid and imaginative, so very life-like.

Wendy and Richard Pini are geniuses for having created such a beautiful world with such wonderful characters.

These books teach about tolerance, how hate only destroys things, how love takes work and sacrifice. The lessons that each novel holds is precious and lovely.
