Summary of this Book...
What if immigrants to America brought their gods with them? What if gods, like these immigrants, had to also forge a new life? This is the basic premise behind American Gods. Follow Shadow, an ex-convict who just lost his wife, as he enters the supernatural realm, traveling with his mysterious employer Mr. Wednesday. It is up to Shadow to unravel the mysteries around him. Why is his dead wife still walking around, as if alive? What happened to the young teenage girls that mysteriously disappear every winter in the small town of Lakeside? And what is this storm that is coming, and why is it so close on the horizon?

those who enjoy supernatural thrillers, complex plots, and mythology.
I especially liked... | ||
The attention to detail in the novel - the grittiness of the setting, the random tidbits of mythology woven together, and the originality of the author.
I didn't like... | ||
the epilogue. It was too long.
The author of this Book...
is Neil Gaiman, famous for Sandman, Nevermore and Stardust - all excellent reads.
I recommend this Book because...
it is fast-paced, fun, gritty and entertaining.
I don't recommend this Book because...
of the gratuitous nature of the novel. This book is not for everyone.
