Summary of this Book...
Judd Foxman is lost. His marriage is falling apart, he's unemployed and living in a rented basement... and now his father is dead. Worse yet, his father's last wish is for Judd, his two brothers, his sister, and his mother to spend the seven days of shiva together as a family. Can the Foxman clan spend a whole week together without killing each other?
This type of Book is good for...
Adults with a sense of humor. Note: there is some pretty frank sexuality in this book, so if you're either a kid, a prude, or a humorless meanie, you should probably read something else, like a Peanuts comic strip or something.
I especially liked...
The narrative is funny -- at times, hilarious -- and filled with keen observations on family, love, guilt, and disappointment.
I didn't like...
In one or two places, the narrative veers off-course a bit, and becomes disconnected from the storyline. This was a minor distraction in what was otherwise a hugely enjoyable read.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
...find everything else this guy had ever written and download it to my iPhone immediately. *Smile*
I recommend this Book because...
It is beautifully written and filled with keen observations. It is very, very funny. And the characters are drawn sharply and with obvious affection.
Further Comments...
Forgive the self-serving nature of this comment, but: if you like my story "Invalid Item"  Open in new Window. [] by A Guest Visitor , you'll probably really like this book. They share a very similar sensibility, except that the book, of course, is written by an actual professional. *Smile*
