Summary of this Book...
The two mice known as Sniff and Scurry and two little humans named Hem and Haw run through the rate race called life. They are stuck in a maze and they all have different attitudes about how to get out of it. They also have different perspectives on how to deal with change. Hem and Haw seem to be far more resistant to change, because what they are holding onto is what is holding them back. Sniff and Scurry on the other hand have no qualms about chasing after the "new cheese" and letting go of the "old cheese." They don't care of the other cheese has been taken from them. The mice's only objective is to get the cheese no matter what it takes. Not that simple for Hem and Haw.
This type of Book is good for...
It definitely is excellent for anyone who needs an attitude adjustment. It also is very good for those of us who are very much stressed out during this very recessive financial crisis that is occurring worldwide. I had been pulling my hair out for awhile dealing with work stress and being stiffed by a client of whom I did a lot of work for awhile ago. However, this book had force me to see past my negative circumstances and look for new opportunities. __ One of the best parts about this book may seem so small, yet it is significant. The names of the humans really stuck out to me. The author chose “Hem” and “Haw” for a reason-whether that would be obvious to you is one thing. The choices of those names was striking to me as it reminded of how sometimes I would have trouble making decisions and it would affect my life. It is perfect for anyone who is addicted to worrying! The other favorite attribute I noticed about this book is that the author speaks in a very “down to earth” tone. I love his use of humor, and you can just picture the story in your mind.
I especially liked... | ||
The fact that I never forgot the message that was portrayed by the allegory of mice and humans scurrying in the maze. I still remember the impact this book had on me even though I read it like 10 years ago.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I am ready more than ever to make an impact on the world. I believe this year is going to be even better than the one before the recession.
This Book made me feel...
I felt motivated and inspired. I was encouraged not to give up on my dreams. It is a must-read especially for home business owners and freelancers.
I recommend this Book because...
It is truly a classic, right up there with "Power of Positive Thinking" by Normal Vincent Peale and “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie. (I suppose as you learn more about my choices of books you can understand what my personal struggles are. LOL)
