Summary of this Book...
This book came out over 10 years ago but it is still a hit. It offers practical steps with illustrations on how to say "yes" or "no" in a given situation. I particularly found the chapter on friendships very useful. It tells users how to assert authority without being aggressive, and how to set boundaries without disrespecting or degrading anyone. It is perfect for anyone who feels like a doormat. It comes with a corresponding workbook and has often been implemented into anger management groups. It helps make anger constructive rather than passive or destructive.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who has self-esteem issues. It is great for passive people who usually always are saying "yes" to everyone. It also is great for people who are not very tactful when it comes to saying "no." It can also help anyone "keep the good in and the bad out." It offers a healthy view of any type of relationship.
This Book made me feel...
I felt able to take better control of my life. It is great for survivors of abuse who want to gain respect for themselves.
