Raine Hill smartly begins this book by explaining that since there are so many different beliefs, even in specific traditions, she does not get into a whole lot of specifics, instead leaving the information more generalized so the parents can supplement the book with the specific information they want their children to have. This way parents can also take the more generic topic and use that as a jumping off point to give information about different tradition specifics and explain why they made the choices in practices that they did.

Topics covered in this book include:
• The moon as a symbol of the Goddess
• The sun as a symbol of the God (Along with room to practice drawing each symbol)
• The Wiccan Reded (shortened version)
• A Celtic creation story followed by a crossword puzzle relating to the story
• The First battle of the Gods and The Giants word search
• The story of Pandora’s Box followed by a related cross word and word search
• How to make “My First Altar”
• The Four Quarters crossword puzzle
• Morning Blessing and Nightime Blessing with word searches for each
• The story of Cerridwen’s Cauldron with word search
• The Wheel of the Year with crossword, word search, and place to practice drawing the wheel
• The spiral, triskele and pentacle with drawing practice room

Though there are several activities in this book, they do all take place on paper. It would have been nice to see some nature related activities, or more physically oriented activities and also more activities in general in order to justify the price of this book.

Also I’m not sure exactly what ages this book is best suited for. While the stories can be read to younger children, the crosswords and word searches are better matched to older children who can at least read on their own.

However because of this, it also make it possible to use this book for several years or with children of different ages.
