Summary of this Book...
Ashleen O’Gaea is easy to read and understand. She writes for her readers, and not over their heads. Thank you! This is a great book for the new Wiccan, covering the light half of the year: Beltane, Midsummer, Lughnasadh and Mabon. Each sabbat is broken down into 4 aspects: Lore, Rituals, Activities and Symbols. I do want to point out one thing though. O’Gaea says the Wiccan Calendar is the Wheel of the Year, but she fails to mention many Pagan traditions celebrate the Wheel of the Year. Many Pagans also use handfastings instead of the so called “traditional” wedding. Since this is a beginners book, I thought it should have been included that these are not festivities celebrated by Wiccans only. Other than this one problem, I did like this book. It is a good starting point to begin planning family or coven get togethers. I would have liked a few more ideas for activities, but again, it is a good place to start your research.
