Summary of this Book...
In this story, Sidonie the Princess of Dacia and Prince Ronan of Serre, are to be married pretty much against their will, and at their fathers’ arrangement. The majority of the story Sidonie is jounrenying to Serre and Ronana is running around chasing a fire bird. There really isn’t much here as far as story and plot go. A coupld of wizards, with an old evil (oh what a shocker!), witch thrown in, an overbearing king/father, and a scribe helping out the older dying wizard. The isn’t much either in character development. You care some for the aging wizard – but as for the rest? I really wasn’t drawn to them. What bothered me the most was the names of the two main characters: Ronan and Sidonie. They seemed far too similar to the High Prince and Princess in two of Melanie Rawn’s series: Prince Rohan and Princess Sioned. Honestly felt like a rip off to me.
