Summary of this Book...
This is a novel about a group of friends who are reunited after 20 years apart, upon the death of one of their group. He is killed suddenly in a terrorist attack and his death has an impact on all of their lives.
I especially liked... | ||
the premise and the whole idea of the impact a death can have on the lives of those who cared about the deceased.
I didn't like... | ||
the fact that the book was written in the present tense. It was awkward to read it. The ending, with respect to one of the characters came out of left field and didn't make sense. There are a couple of loose ends at the very abrupt ending.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
write this review. | ||
The author of this Book...
got me interested in the characters, but didn't follow through with the plot.
I don't recommend this Book because...
it wasn't a very good story after all. It could have been - the characters were likeable and the premise was a good one. I don't read more than 50 pages unless I am curious about what will happen. The author drew me in only to disappoint me at the end.
Further Comments... | ||
I have another book by this author to read, but I am going to read something else before I do that. I was kind of surprised that this was a big bestseller because it was so disjointed and the writing is so awkward, as to tense. In the end, it wasn't a very good story. Some of it was predictable and some didn't really make sense in context with what went before.
