Summary of this Book...
This is the tenth book in the China Bayles Mystery Series. China is summoned to her childhood home, a Mississippi Plantation when her mother returns there to take care of the aunt that raised her. Aunt Tullie is ill with a genetic disease that affects both the body and the mind and can be inherited by 50% of her offspring. China's mother Leatha is worried for the health of herself and China. Meanwhile an old deed to the plantation is discovered by the plantation manager that supposedly gives him the property the plantation home is built on. After showing up with the deed he vanishes under mysterious circumstances. China must delve into old family papers and secrets are unearthed that lead to more that what she bargained for, both good and bad.
I especially liked... | ||
The character development and the way the author makes the reader care about what happens to them.
I didn't like... | ||
The overly repetitious ways in which the author referred to the "disease" that Aunt Tullie was suffering from.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Pick up the next book in the series and read some more.
I recommend this Book because...
It was a good paced mystery set in a slow paced part of the south with interesting characters. It brought about an awareness for the disease Aunt Tullie was suffering from while adding just enough of the supernatural and ghosts from the past to keep the reader guessing.
