Neil Patrick Harris plays a super villain (Dr. Horrible) torn between conquering the world, and capturing the heart of the beautiful girl at the laundromat. The story fluctuates between a series of web casts, and the 'real life' trauma Dr. Horrible deals with trying to accomplish both goals simultaneously.

This story was intricately woven, especially for such a short tale. Creator Joss Whedon refers to it as his 'mid-life' crisis, but if you're a fan of his dry sense of humor, and the way his characters are always tongue-in-cheek, even in the tightest situations, this is the DVD for you. This does Buffy: The Musical one better...or two...or ten.

When I saw Joss Whedon, Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, and Felicia day on the cover, I knew I had to see this, and didn't care what it was about. The cast didn't disappoint. Nathan Fillion's character, Captain Hammer, was almost painfully cheesy to watch at times - but he was supposed to be. Harris and Day have stunning singing voices and really brought the melodies of this musical to life.
