Summary of this Book...
This is another Kay Scarpetta murder mystery. Kay Scarpetta ia a former Medical Examiner who is freelancing now in Charleston, SC. She used to be based in Richmond. This book starts with the brutal murder of a famous young tennis star and mooves on from there.
I didn't like... | ||
the fact that I did not read the intervening books. I was sort of lost in a way even though I read the first ten or so Scarpetta books. I am missing about 4 in between them and this one. I HATED what she has done with her characters.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read something else entirely before I return to Kay Scarpetta.
This Book made me feel...
like the author has tried to change a style that worked. She was a good storyteller, but now she uses this weird awkward present tense type of thing and she has done things with the characters (particularly Marino) that make no sense at all to me.
The author of this Book...
knows how to tell a story very well and she should get back to what she did early on in terms of storytelling.
I don't recommend this Book because...
her style of writing has changed and to me deteriorated so much. She shouldn't listen to anyone who told her to change things.
Further Comments... | ||
This was a disappointment but her earlier work was so good that I will definitely give her some more chances. She is a heck of a talented storyteller, but she really let me down with this one.
