Summary of this Book...
This is former First Lady, Laura Bush's autobiography. I was interested to read her point of view on world events while her husband was in office.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who is interested in the history of the U.S. It has a lot of interesting stuff about 9/11 and what Mrs. Bush was doing that day.
I especially liked... | ||
the honest way she writes. I am not a big fan of her husband, but I do like her.
I didn't like... | ||
the glossing over of Hurricane Katrina and the financial crisis, but I can understand not really wanting to deal with it.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
learn more about the history of 9/11.
This Book made me feel...
like I know Mrs. Bush better. I especially admire the way she dealt with the fatal car accident she had (it was her fault and she doesn't duck that) when she was 17.
The author of this Book...
is straightforward and honest. I like the way she writes - I can hear her voice throughout.
I recommend this Book because...
it helps the reader put a lot of things into historical context. I got it as a trade at the used book store. I was considering buying it but I really don't want to contribute anything to George W. Bush's coffers because I am angry at him about more than one thing.
Further Comments... | ||
Anyone who is interested in history and first ladies will enjoy this book. She is not someone I am angry with and I found her tone very honest and appealing.
