Summary of this Book...
This is the story of a woman who leaves her past behind as an abused wife by changing her appearance and identity. She moves to Southport, near Wilmington North Carolina to start a new life and meets an attractive widower and his two children. Slowly, reluctantly, she comes out of her shell to find love and friendship in the small community.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who likes a romance with suspense.
I especially liked... | ||
the character of Katie and the tender feelings she develops for Alex's children and then Ales, himself.
I didn't like... | ||
some of the run-on sentences. I found them a bit jarring and irritating.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
trade it in - it isn't a book I would keep and revisit.
This Book made me feel...
like I'd read an average book by a good storyteller.
The author of this Book...
I know Nicholas Sparks is capable of better than this because I've seen it. I was wondering if this one was rushed out for some reason. I didn't like the way he wrapped up "jo" at the end. Some of the explanations didn't make sense to me, given what happened. He should have taken more time to explain.
I recommend this Book because...
it's a pretty entertaining read and there's lots of drama and suspense right at the end. I think it is about average really and better than most romances. Still, he is capable of more than this and I wonder why I'm not seeing steady improvement in his storytelling.
Further Comments... | ||
I like that with Nicholas Sparks I actually come to care about his main characters. I don't think he did his best work here, but it is a pretty good read. I read it in about 3 days.
