This is a story of two sisters and their difficult relationship with their mother and the journey they go through to discover who their mother really is. I do not want to give the plot away that that is all I will say about that.

anyone who likes a well told story about a difficult relationship. Face it, we have all had a relationship that was more difficult than others and most of the time it is mother/daughter dynamic at work.

the character of Meredith and what she goes through and how the attitudes are so rigid when a parent seems to be in the throes of dementia.

like I was transported to Leningrad before and during the War. It was terrifying.

knows how to get the reader interested in her characters and then tell a good story.

because it was engrossing reading, especially at the end. The last 150 pages I literally did not put the book down except to snooze.
