Summary of this Book...
This is the story of a woman who gets dumped by her husband right after they see their only child off on a trip to England. The woman, Annie, returns to her home in Washington State on Mystic Lake and slowly discovers the truth about her life and her relationships.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys a good story.
I especially liked... | ||
the characters of Nick and Izzy. Izzy broke my heart with her six year old grief stricken view of the world.
I didn't like... | ||
the character of Blake and the fact that he was so cliche with no redeeming qualities besides being a good looking rich asshole. I could not see at all what Annie saw in him to begin with. It just didn't fit.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read another book soon by Kristin Hannah. She is an excellent storyteller and this is the second book of hers that I have enjoyed reading.
The author of this Book...
knows how to get you to care about her protagonist and most of the supporting characters. I kept reading because mostly I cared so much about Nick and Izzy.
I recommend this Book because...
it is a good, quick, engaging read.
Further Comments... | ||
I had a big problem with the character of Blake being such a cliche. Then, Annie was very uneven. It just didn't work for me that she would go back to Blake after the way he treated her. It was like the time with Nick and Izzy taught her nothing until she saw what it was like back with Blake. It makes her a bit of a dolt and a clueless one at that and that bothered me even though I wanted to like her.
