Jake Gyllenhaal plays "Dastan", an orphan the King "rescues" and adopts as his own. With a very strong personality, we follow Dastan as he makes mistakes and with the help of "the Sands of Time", changes things. This is not just a "right or wrong" storyline, but a great lovestory as well. Dastan has fallen for Tamina, the guardian of the Dagger which holds the Sands and allows the backpeddling of time.

The dialogue is filled with humorous undertones and though it can, at times, be a bit hard to follow if you are not paying close attention, does lend a great deal of depth to both the characters and the storyline.

I loved how easily I was able to decide which characters I liked, and which I hated. Each character has an individual personality and you could close your eyes and tell them apart just by the way they speak.

Watch it again... which is a big change for me.

Excited, hopeful and content.

It offers a chance to relax and send yourself into another land - another time - with everything you could want in an adventure story.
