Summary of this Book...
The stories in this book gently open the door and invite the reader in to Mr. Kooser's life. It's based in Nebraska, but the values and lifestyle described could easily be any state in the United States. The easy conversational tone allows a reader to feel an immediate kinship. This reader feels that the writer could be a neighbor, a brother, a friend. The narrative descriptions are rich and full of extraordinary imagery. I have been reading this book on my lunch hour and I can't tell you how many times it has made me smile and chuckle. I go back to work happy. I can relate to the stories, and I greatly admire Mr. Kooser's gift. I'm thankful to have this book in my life. I know it is going to stay one book that I keep and treasure, and re-read, often. I can't wait to share it with friends.
