This is the story of a power couple, both practicing law and living in New York. Emily finds that she can no longer go on with the high tech life so she escapes back to a simpler place and time from her past, just as an old lover returns to the same refuge.

There is also an animal refuge involved - the animal part is the best part.

anyone who wants a quick and engrossing read.

the interaction with the kitten, the wild animals and the dog.

the action/drama/violent part of the plot. It was contrived and didn't fit with the rest.

it was entertaining - not much more than that. I think if the writer would have stuck with the animal/human relationship stuff it would have been better than having an "action" scene. It was poorly written and didn't fit with the rest.
