A hodgepodge of many mystery/thriller plot devices combine to create an entertaining read in this Preston/Child collaboration.

fans of the series can appreciate this work, though it's not up to par with the rest of their work.

I was thoroughly entertained by this book. I wasn't expecting much, as it mostly has pretty poor reviews, but I found it really entertaining.

if you're looking for substance or "good" writing, you might want to look elsewhere.

To me, the writers were looking to create an action hero and an action-adventure mystery, and I think they succeeded. This is a good Summer read when you just want to be entertained. If you're looking for a deeper read, look elsewhere.
