Summary of this Book...
You know the jerks you used to date in high school, those who were obviously bastards but you date them anyway. They tell you you’re “different” and “arty” but you fall in love with them anyway. You try to think that maybe you’re just the change they have been waiting for. You keep each memory of it thru a candy wrapper, a book, a camera, a picture, and all those silly keepsakes that remind you of him and your love story. You treasure it like the huge X on your map in which he’s the only one who knows the way there. You try to think that maybe it won’t hurt to take a shot at it. But it does. You know it was inevitable, but still here you are taking the pain on as it strikes you. As it strikes you harder than you imagined. At the end of the day, the jerk has never changed. He has been, and always will be an a**hole. Min Green shows you that we all had this kind of relationship once. There’s no such thing as a “fine breakup”. There’s only heartbreak and more heartbreak. But no matter what, you should look at it in a positive way; a learning experience. That you should have listened to your friends. That you shouldn’t have kept all those beer caps and matchboxes because it hurts everytime you see them. That you shouldn’t have called me that night. That you shouldn’t have kept my hopes up. That you shouldn’t have said “sorry”. And that is WHY WE BROKE UP.
