This movie is based on the best selling book about Jackson Mississippi in the early 1960's when Civil Rights was a movement taking hold. It involves a young writer who enlists black maids in her area to write a book about the people they work for.

The irony is that the black maids raise the white babies who eventually become their bosses. It is sort of a unique situation and it is funny, sad and heartwarming.

anyone who enjoys a good story.

Viola Davis. I would have given her the Oscar.

like the book is better, but I enjoyed the movie.

it was very entertaining to me, who had read the book, and to Mr. Hooves, who had not read it. He enjoyed the movie, too!
