Summary of this Book...
This is the story of Robert Wagner's life. He was in some great movies (The Pink Panther, The Longest Day & Austin Powers) and some great TV shows, including Hart to Hart. He married Natalie Wood twice and has led a very interesting, star studded friend type life. I have always liked him and enjoyed his work, so that led me to read his book. I was surprised at the level of honesty about Natalie Wood's death. I was expecting him to smooth it over, but he didn't.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who is interested in Hollywood stars from the 1950s onward.
I especially liked... | ||
the generous way he deals with old romantic rivals and semi-rivals like Christopher Walken. I get the feeling he is more generous to people like Warren Beatty then is really deserved, but a guy who has the life he has now, can afford to be generous. It is obvious he has been a great dad and you can't say more than that about a person.
I didn't like... | ||
the fact that Natalie Wood and he won't be buried together. That made me sad for her, but I understand that he has moved on and maybe at the end it made him angry in a way he can't deal with, even now. I didn't like how he ended up with Stefanie Powers, but I suspect he is not happy about that either.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
see some of his early work in movies.
The author of this Book...
seems very brutally honest about the stinkers in Hollywood. It is a mean street they walk on there.
I recommend this Book because...
it was very entertaining and a fast read. It had more interesting stuff than I expected, especially about some of the old time movie stars who were a lot older than Wagner, who is in his early 80's now.
