This is a 240 page book by the best selling author, Janet Evanovich, known for her series of books featuring her character, Stephanie Plum. It's a compilation of questions the author has received on her website that she answers very candidly. It is the authors personal experience and how she writes.

It has useful information on how this particular author breaks down her process. It includes characters, story mechanics, inspiration, setting and more.

I liked the easy question and answer format of the book. She stocked her answers with examples from her own successful series, which gives you something concrete to absorb and use in your own writing.

It was relatively short and with some answers I would have liked more detail.

It's a quick and easy insight into this particular authors way of doing what writers are curious about.

This short, question and answer, book was interesting since I had read all the Stephanie Plum novels. Janet Evanovich used examples from those books to point out the writing examples she talks about in the chapters. They were nice reminders of the stories.
It's not deep and merely discusses how this particular author writes. It's quite refreshing, though, since it is very down-to-earth and doesn't dictate right and wrong ways to do things. It's basically a lot of common sense which, sometimes, can be a good reminder.
