Rose and Lissa are two best friends,a vampires but they just belong to different families.Lissa belongs to Moroi and she is last member of Royal family Dragomir while Rose is Dhampir,half human,half vampire.They both are going to St.Vladimir's Academy.Apparently Rose's job is to protect Lissa from Strigoi.Strigoi are vampires who are immortal and they are now after Lissa because she is Royal family.After being caught while they tried to escape from the school Rose had to train how to be deadly to Strigoi every day in the school with her guardian teacher Dimitri,and she's falling in love with him even there is a big age difference between them.Dimitri don't want to have anything with her but they fall under charms-spell of Rose's uncle Victor.

Richelle Mead did a great job, first with characters and then with the point of the whole story.

I recommend this book because it's full of excitement and great twist and turns.Characters are so well described, Richelle did a great job here.
