After being sent away from home numerous times over the past 8 years, Beckman has been tasked with seeing to the restoration of his grandmother's property. He arrives to find the property in the care of two sisters. Sara, the housekeeper, is not who she appears to be, and both sisters hide as many secrets has Beckman himself does.

As Beckman and Sara become closer, various happenings threaten to upend the temporary, bucolic life they have built.

Escaping.

I find it frustrating that so many stories like this one hinge on the fact that the main characters are certain that revealing their secrets will destroy everything. This story was no different in that respect.
