Summary of this Book...
This is a work of historical fiction that centers around the beautiful suit worn by Jacqueline Kennedy on November 22, 1963. The story revolves around the seamstress at Chez Ninon in New York, who sewed the knock off of the Chanel Suit. The seamstress hailed from Cork Ireland, and she was in the middle of a romance with a young Irish butcher named Patrick Harris, at the time the suit was made. Kate is an admirable and strong character who has a way with fabric that takes her all the way to working with the First Lady. The suit is probably the most memorable piece of clothing in American History, so the potential for a great story is there.
I didn't like... | ||
the fact that the assasination is sloughed off in the last part of the book with a few sentences. I wanted to see what happened to the real suit on its journey to history.
The author of this Book...
did a good job and has quite a vivid imagination about sewing.
