This movie is hilarious. Yes, it's a horror movie and it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. The main character is a bank loaner played by Alison Lohman. In order to impress her boss for a potential promotion, she ends up denying an elderly woman for a loan, which causes the elderly woman to be evicted from her house.

In true horror nature, the old woman places an evil curse on the bank loaner before leaving, which gives Alison Lohman's character three days to save her soul from being dragged to hell.

Anyone who like overly gory, comedy type horror.

I saw this movie in theater and had no idea it was directed by Sam Raimi before I watched it. I remember seeing previews that were aimed directly at the straightforward horror crowd and I could see people getting visibly upset by the increasingly ridiculous nature of the movie. That's a fun Friday night for me.

Watch it again! Aren't all Sam Raimi movies like that?

I like Alison Lohman quite a bit. She was in a movie called White Oleander that I watched several times as a teenager, so I knew her from that. Justin Long plays her long-term boyfriend in the movie. He was perfect for the role because he has such a normal look to him. He's trying to do everything in a normal way throughout the movie even though the series of events is so absurd, no one could possibly react so nonchalantly.

It's funny. Listen, the point is, you're going to 'get' this movie or you're not. Just read the Amazon reviews if you don't believe me. There are over sixty reviews stating that the movie is 'laughable and not scary'. It's supposed to be funny, but if you take it too seriously, you'll be miserable the whole time.
