Summary of this DVD... | ||
"Heeeeere's Johnny!" The Shining has everything you could want in a horror movie. The absurd, uncomfortable moments alone make it an instant classic in my book. The basic premise is Jack Nicholson's character brings his wife and young son to Overlook Hotel to care for the place during its off season. His character is writer and a recovering alcoholic too. Soon after they get to the hotel, they end up getting snowed in and the guy basically goes off his rocker.
This type of DVD is good for...
Anyone. Really, I don't think you have to be into the horror genre to enjoy the strange ambiance and psychological warfare that occurs during this movie.
I especially liked... | ||
The best part of watching this movie is seeing Torrance (Nicholson) slowly crack up. He seems quite reasonable, so it's unsettling to see his mind spiral out of control.
I didn't like... | ||
I've always felt like this movie is about half an hour too long. It comes in at almost two and a half hours total, but the last half hour feels really drawn out for no reason.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Never see two identical twin kids again.
This DVD made me feel...
Uncomfortable. That's honestly the best word to describe it and I mean that in the best possible way.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
Who doesn't like Jack Nicholson? Shelley Duvall does an amazing job at playing the horrified wife as well.
I recommend this DVD because...
It's a classic. Plus, it's based off of a Stephen King novel and he's awesome.
