Heaven is For Real

I have said in one or more of the product reviews ih Dave written in the last couple days that I would only be reviewing books or DVDs that I like. I am making an exception here.

I did not enjoy this movie.

I had heard a lot about it and was very excited when I heard it was to be shown for movie night at a church I visit regularly. I even changed my plans for the evening to head out to the church at the last minute to see this movie about this little boy's experience.

I guess that was where the disappointment came in. I had heard kiss of folks talking about what had happened to this child. I had heard something about him meeting his sister in heaven - a baby who had not survived to full term - a little girl his mom had miscarried - a baby he had not known about before.

Did that happen to this little boy?

If it did, I did not hear about it in the movie.

At this point, I must admit, I left before the movie was over.

I watched it for for an hour. One thing iw was waiting for was the bit about the sister. I never got to hear that part. U never got to hear very much about what happened to the little boy. Mostly, I buy just heard about what happened to his dad.

This was not the story I came to see. Family problems, misunderstandings within the church community, rejection, financial problems... all of these are a part of life but this was not what had drawn me to this film. I was looking for a miracle. A little boy talking about his first-hand experience of setting heaven, of setting Jesus face to face - that is what I came to see.

Right now, I have enough struggles in my own life. I do not find it entertaining to share in the tribulations of others through the media of film.

Does the movie have a happy ending? Probably. I might even see it sometime. I think it is on Netflix. If someone wants to loan me the DVD, I would watch it or if it was on television. At this point, I would not buy it.

However, you might. Now that you have a clearer idea of what the film is about, you could watch it without experiencing my disappointment. You might even enjoy it.

So what it's this movie about?

Heaven is For Real is about the repercussions experienced by a little boy and his family after he has a kind of bear death experience and he and his dad tell people about it. (Mostly, his dad.)

It also gives you a glimpse into some of the problems this family had before this happened in their life

Hopefully, it does have a happy ending.

It is November 2014 and I am writing as a Nano wrimo rebel. I am writing reviews and product reviews for this year's event. I Ann write fast behind right now. It will take a miracle for me to reach my goal of 50000. I am just going to write these product reviews a quickly as I can. I won't be plain these ahead of time not will I be correcting typos and such until after Nano Wrimo is over.
