Summary of this DVD... | ||
I went snooping around Amazon and Netflix and found this film. I think I typed in Irish Music DVDs or something like that and this movie showed up. It is about 3 brothers attending a music competition in Ireland (called a Cielli competition) in the 1960s. One brother, who lives in Liverpool and is rich, comes back a big shot (Liverpool is big money at that time with the Beatles) with his band. All the bands are instrumental and the story is about the Liverpool brother's illegitimate daughter (who plays the fiddle) who he never knew. She is played by Andrea Corr, the lead singer and fiddle player for The Coors, which is one of my favorite Irish groups. I enjoyed the movie immensely because of the scenery and the comedy involved and, of course, the music. If you don't like Irish music, you probably won't like this. But, if you don't like Irish music, you are probably nuts anyway. Just kidding. Happy New Year!
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who enjoys Irish music and who likes the Corrs. Andrea Corr is very good in this.
I especially liked... | ||
Colm Meaney and Andrea Corr.
I recommend this DVD because...
it was very enjoyable. I wasn't sure how it would be as it is more than ten years old and I'd never heard of it, but I enjoyed it and so did Mr. hooves.
