Summary of this Book...
Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory is opening at last! But only five lucky children will be allowed inside. And the winners are: Augustus Gloop, an enormously fat boy whose hobby is eating; Veruca Salt, a spoiled-rotten brat whose parents are wrapped around her little finger; Violet Beauregarde, a dim-witted gum-chewer with the fastest jaws around; Mike Teavee, a toy pistol-toting gangster-in-training who is obsessed with television; and Charlie Bucket, Our Hero, a boy who is honest and kind, brave and true, and good and ready for the wildest time of his life!
This type of Book is good for...
younger children hoping to read an exciting, funny, plot-twisting story.
I especially liked... | ||
the fact that there were times when it was so funny, the creations Willy Wonka had in the factory, that I just had to burst out laughing.
I didn't like... | ||
that there were some really weird (dangerous? Not really) creations in the factory that made no sense at all. And some of the characters were a bit strange as well. I wondered if that was supposed to add to the funniness because it didn't seem to do that with me.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
watch the movie, burst out laughing again, and reread the book.
This Book made me feel...
like laughing a bit too much. (Laughing is good for you so who cares!) But I liked laughing, the story was just so funny!
The author of this Book...
Roald Dahl did very well in story building and character creation! Wonderful! And he sure has a sense of humour.
I recommend this Book because...
It was funny, I say this so many times but it is true. Very true. All the vividness is there too!
