Anyone who is a fan of Sparks, and wants an insight into his very dysfunctional upbringing.

I loved the commradary that he and his brother have. They share a common bond - a mother who is a disgrace to the title.

The way they were raised. Its been a long time since I read this book, but I remember their mother being cold and uncaring.

Give Nicholas a huge hug and tell him how sorry that his childhood was so bad.

Sad for how they were raised, but glad that he and his brother went on their adventure and got to spend lots of time being the close brothers that they were as children.

Nicholas Sparks, is a native of North Carolina. You will notice that all of his stories are set in this state, just as Stephen King sets all of his in Maine. I am also born and raised in N.C., and I am proud of our Shining Star!

It is a warm tribute to the love between brothers, and a mans journey of forgiving his mother.
