This eight-hour series is based on the novels by Winston Graham and set against the mesmerizing Cornish coastline. The story begins with Ross Poldark, who returns home to Cornwall from the American Revolutionary War, in 1783, and finds England in a recession, his father dead, their copper mines in ruins, and the love-of-his-life, about to marry his cousin Francis. Feeling betrayed, he must start over... and so begins this series of his trials and unexpected new-found love. | ||

I love the characters, especially Ross and Demelza. They are such good people and so in-love. The music captured my heart from the very beginning. And I love watching the pounding waves against the Cornish coastline. | ||

I immediately looked up when Season 2 would be out. So far, there is no set date. I promise I will watch it when it does come out though! | ||

It's hard to explain, other than I love this series! And though there are so many hardships the family must endure, they've crept into my heart. | ||

The DVD is Unrated but so far, I've noticed there is no swearing or nudity. In fact, there is very little violence in it. And it's still worth watching! | ||
