Summary of this Book...
A collection of short pieces by that one 'wild and crazy guy', this book was not what I was expecting. Many of the pieces in it are nonsensical, and appear to only make sense to the writer himself. At 125 pages, almost half of the book contains pictures of Steve standing on stage during one of his performances.

I especially liked... | ||
The only real decent story in this is the title story. I've heard it told by him verbally on a record before, and it's a lot better than reading it.
I didn't like... | ||
All the rest of the stories. I love Steve Martin in THE JERK and most all of his stand up routines, but he should have no business writing a book!
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Immediately return it to the library!
This Book made me feel...
Disappointed with Steve. I had high hopes for this book, but it turned out to be a real let-down.
The author of this Book...
As I said, Steve is a great comedian, as well as a writer of movies. I love his sense of humor on the stage, whether it's on film or stand up comedy. He's still one of my favorites.
I recommend this Book because...

I don't recommend this Book because...
Because you'll be wasting your time reading it. Sorry, but unless you can understand where he's coming from with this, I think you'll be disappointed.
Further Comments... | ||
Ever since his days back in the 70's on Saturday Night Live Steve Martin has been the comedian of my generation. His comedic traits are well known, such as the arrow through the head gimmick, his routine as 'King Tut', and many others, and I have the utmost respect for him. But as far as him writing any more books, I'll be sure to steer clear of them.
