This novel was written by Lauren Graham, who played Lorelei Gilmore on The Gilmore Girls.

It is the story of a young actress, named Franny Banks, and her adventures trying to find work as an actress in New York in 1995.

She has a lot of false starts and steps, picking a slick agent who lets her down and an initial boyfriend who does the same. Both appear to be the real deal, but are phonies.

When she realizes that being herself is okay, she starts to get on track for career and personal life. she has given herself 3 years to make it and at the start of the book, she has six months to go.

The book was a little draggy at the start, but it got better and was very cute and funny. I particularly liked the bit of romance she had with her roommate, Dan.

it has a lot of humor in it that I associate with Lauren Graham and her portrayal on The Gilmore Girls. She seems to have a lot in common with Franny and Lorelei. The comedy is funny and endearing. I enjoyed reading this book, especially when I got past halfway through.
