Summary of this Book...
I own the paperback version, the E-Book and the audio book read by Bernadette Dunne. I've read and listened to this true story many, many times. I will likely continue to do so.

I find inspiration in it. If God can be with these two women in a concentration camp, He can be with me in my daily struggles.

This book serves to remind me that suffering is a part of life. A relationship with God does not eliminate pain and suffering but He is with us through it all. It is good to have that reminder.

The Hiding Place is a true story. It is written about a tragic time in the history of the world -- a very tragic time. The story begins before things got bad in Holland. Even though the world was already going crazy, initially, Corrie, her family and their friends thought Holland could just stand to the side and be neutral in the situation. They did not realize the danger approaching until it was too late.

In the book, we start out with a celebration. A few years before Germany conquered Holland, the watch shop owned by the Ten Boom family marked their 100th year in business. Corrie starts at this point and then back tracks a bit to share some background information.

Then we are with her and her family when they hear the Prime Minister over the radio reassure them Holland is safe -- only to be bombed six hours later.

The war and the problems the Jews faced was no longer in a neighboring country -- suddenly, it was their neighbors who were being mistreated.

The Ten Booms chose to help.

We read about the beginnings of Corrie's involvement in the underground. At first, it was simply saying yes to people who needed help but it grew to meet the demands.

As we read The Hiding Place, we see how the Ten Booms started acting in the behalf of God's chosen people. The things they had to do to be able to help.

One of the things they did was to build a secret room concealed behind a wall in Corrie's bedroom.

When the Nazis arrested Corrie, Betsie and Casper, the Jews who were in the Ten Boom home (hidden in this secret room) were not found and were later able to escape.

after they were taken away we go with we ride on the train with Corey and her sister they're separated from their father their father goes one direction they go another direction she manages to stay with her sister they end up in the list of the situation on the train is disgusting no provision has been made for them to go to the bathroom the whole train and thinking because of people spoiling themselves. They get to the concentration camp and they are humiliated they are stripped they have to stand naked in front of the there there the people that have taken them prisoner Cory manages to either keep a bottle or get a Bible so she has a Bible she and Betsie read the Bible to the other prisoners they pray they have Bible studies she talks about her sister Betsie and Betsie just seems like a gentle woman of God.

The saddest thing for me as I have read this story many times is Betsie dies right before she would have been released. An interesting thing is that Corey's release appears to have been a glitch and accidents but fortunately she is released and she gets to go back to the store to shop the house but bijing I think that's what they called it.

The Hiding Place tells us the story of Corrie ten Boom. It is a dramatic and sad telling of her and her family's experience during the Holocaust. The Ten Boom's were a Christian family who became involved with the resistence in Holland during World War II when they made a decision to protect innocent Jews from Nazi persecution. This family's choice to put the needs of others ahead of their own, led to their own arrest and imprisonment in a concentration camp. Corrie's father and her sister lost their lives. Corrie lost her family. This book tells their story. It is a story of faith, courage, humiliation, suffering, loss and forgiveness. It serves as a reminder and inspiration.
