Brewster’s millions. 1985 comedy film starring Richard Pryor and John Candy based on the 1902 novel of the same name by George Barr McCutcheon. Monty Brewster is a minor-league player whose career is going poorly when he becomes the recipient of an unusual bequest. An uncle he never knew wants to leave him $300 million, but only if it can be proven that Monty knows the value of money. So to teach him how disagreeable the spendthrift's life can be, the uncle has demanded that Monty spend $30 million in 30 days. If at the end of that period, he has no assets, and if he has not simply destroyed his purchases or given the fortune away, he will inherit the larger sum. | ||
